UConn hours over spring break

University of Connecticut services will hold different hours over spring break, starting March 15.  

According to UConn websites, dining halls, the UConn Recreation Center, the Homer Babbidge Library, the Student Union and UConn Transportation Services will all have different hours and availability.

As stated by the UConn Dining Services website, South Dining Hall will be the only dining hall open during break. From March 15 to March 22, breakfast will be offered from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., lunch will be offered from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner will be offered from 4 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.  

Students who plan on staying on campus over break with an ultimate, value or custom meal plan can sign up for meals in advance by filling out a form on the Dining Services website.  According to the form, these meals are free, however, students are limited to one breakfast, lunch and dinner a day.  

Those observing Ramadan will still be able to get their pre-sign up meals at the South Dining Hall.  

The Student Union will also see an hour change during break. From Monday through Friday of break, the Union will be open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. During this time, the Dunkin Donuts in the Union will be closed.  

As for retail places, all locations except the Dairy Bar will be closed on the weekend of March 15 and 16. From March 17 to March 21, Earth, Wok and Fire, SAMBOZON, Bookworms, nanoByte, Crossroads and Mango will all be closed.  

However, from Monday through Friday of break, the Union Street Market and Market Cafe will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Beanery and Dairy Bar will also be open during break for their regular hours.

The UConn Recreation will also have different hours during break, according to the Rec website. From March 17 to March 21, the Rec will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will be closed March 22 and 23.  

The Climbing Center in the Rec will be open from 12 p.m to 5 p.m. on the Monday through Friday of break.

The Homer Babbidge Library will see different hours as well. On March 15, 16 and 22, the library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. From March 17 to 21, the library will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

As for bus routes, only routes Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 will be running over break, according to Transportation Services. Weekend 1 will be running from 8:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Weekend 2 will be running from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
