Saturday Night Live Season 52 premiered Sept. 26, creating online buzz from the stark pairing of NBA player Jalen Brunson as the host and girl group KATSEYE as the musical guest. That pairing made the Life section think, “Who would our dream host and musical guest combinations be?” From Deadpool himself (Ryan Reynolds), to pop-rockers Twenty One Pilots, we present you with our ideal SNL pairings.

One of my favorite movies is “Deadpool.” Not only is it hilarious, but Ryan Reynolds does an amazing job playing Deadpool. I’ve watched other Reynolds movies, such as “Blade: Trilogy,” “Free Guy” and “The Proposal,” and Reynolds just kills it in all of them. His marvelous acting skills prove that he would be an exceptional SNL host.
Choosing a dream music guest is a little more complicated, partly because there are numerous singers that I like. However, I think Billie Eilish would be a wonderful choice because she has a unique personality, and I enjoy most of her songs. Other singers I’d love to see on SNL are Shakira and Lady Gaga.

I was watching old clips of “Mr. Bean” with my mom during the summer, and those reminded me just how much Rowan Atkinson can make you laugh without having to utter a single word. Imagine Atkinson delivering his monologue, and it devolves into a silent comedy bit? Get the old man out there, he’s still got the juice.
As for my musical guest, I was going to say Turnstile, but I just found out they’re on next Saturday’s show; looks like Lorne Michaels and I are on the same wavelength.
If we are on the same page, I think Michaels would agree with me when I say Hayley Williams and her band Paramore should come on the show. If you need any convincing, just search up their performance of “This Is Why” on Jimmy Fallon four years ago, it’s electric.

My dream SNL host and musical guest combination is an interesting thought. It’s also a no-brainer decision for me: Karl-Anthony Towns and Twenty One Pilots.
I’ve loved Towns since his Timberwolves tenure, but now playing for the Knicks and having helped them win a championship, it would be a great show. Jalen Brunson was just recently on SNL, but his lack of energy was apparent. KAT would bring the energy and perform some hilarious bits.
For Twenty One Pilots, they were on SNL back in 2016, but in the decade since, they’ve released their best music. Also, Twenty One Pilots’ live performances are next level; the stuff they do live is genius, and to see what they could come up with on SNL would be awesome.
