
A week after going 0-2 away, UConn volleyball will take on St. John’s and Seton Hall this weekend.
The Huskies lost to Georgetown 0-3 last Friday with Juleigh Urbina and Natalie Nguyen assisting almost 90% of Georgetown’s 39 assists. Meanwhile, UConn’s Audrey Jensen had 89% of UConn’s 27 total assists.
UConn lost the first set 20-25, the second set 19-25 and the third set 23-25. UConn committed 23 errors across the three games while Georgetown only committed 14.
UConn played Villanova the following day, falling 3-0. All three sets from the match were won by five or more points. UConn lost the first set 20-25 and the second and third sets 19-25.
The catalyst for Villanova’s offense was Alyssa Nelson, who had 27 assists and Campbell McKinnon, who had 13 kills across the match. Meanwhile, Jensen had another dominant outing for the Huskies, boasting 25 out of UConn’s 31 assists.
This Friday, UConn will gear up to face St. Johns, who won 3-1 in their last meeting. Overall, UConn has a 12-12 record all time against the Red Storm.
St. John’s enters this weekend 13-4 and 3-1 in the Big East with losses against then Old Dominion, East Texas A&M, Rutgers and No. 25 Creighton. St. Johns is on a two-game win streak.
An opposing player to look out for on St. Johns is Carola Tesoro, who has 263 kills and over four kills a set for the Red Storm.

The following day, the Huskies will face Seton Hall, who they beat 3-0 in their last matchup. Overall, the Huskies have an 11-7 record against the Pirates.
Seton Hall enters this weekend 8-8 and 0-4 in the Big East. The Pirates are on a five-game losing streak.
An opposing player to look out for on Seton Hall is Gwen Adler. Adler has 408 assists this season so far, which is 264 more than the next-best player in the Big East.
Midway through the season, UConn is 7-10 and 0-4 in the Big East.
Sydney Borowy has been one of the Huskies’ strongest players on attack, notching 190 points and 169 kills in 17 matches. Isabella Sohl has also been integral for her squad with 379 assists in 14 matches.
The match versus St. Johns on Friday will be at 5 p.m. and the match versus Seton Hall on Saturday will be at 2:30 p.m.
