WRTD fares to remain unchanged, new discounts available in future

WRTD fares will remain unchanged for the next year, according to an official proposal released by The Windham Regional Transit District on Jan. 22.

Plans in the proposal debunk any possibilities that student bus fare will be raised, stating that UPasses will remain free alongside the Mansfield Bus Pass.

According to the WRTD Winter Fare Proposal, the changes that will move forward include The New Ten Punch Ticket, which is “usable across many different routes,” gives passengers “discounts for purchasing trips in advance” and uses one main card to make it easier for distribution through multiple vendors. Senior citizens will also be able to ride with a bus fee of a fare donation. The newly-introduced Disabled Local Monthly Pass will offer discounted prices for disabled passengers.

The WRTD is currently planning an “outreach about new fares,” around mid-March according to their website.

To contact the WRTD for any further questions, comments or concerns, they may be reached at info@wrtd.org or through their office phone 860-456-2223.
