After a winless spring break road trip in Florida, the UConn men’s tennis team will travel to Hamden and look to snap their losing streak on Saturday at 12 p.m. against in-state opponent Quinnipiac.

There were few brights spots from the Huskies’ Florida road trip. UConn (7-12, 0-2 The American) was swept by both UAB on Friday and Florida Atlantic on Saturday in Boca Raton, then earned their lone point of the weekend on Sunday at Palm Beach Atlantic as senior Jack McLister earned a three-set win at fourth singles in a 6-1 defeat. The Huskies closed out the trip with a 4-0 defeat against University of Miami at Coral Gables on Sunday, which marked their seventh straight loss.

Saturday’s opponent Quinnipiac is currently trending in a similar downward spiral. The Bobcats (4-9, 2-0 MAAC) lost all five of their matches during a spring break trip to California between March 10 and March 15. Quinnipiac owns a 5-2 victory over Sacred Heart on March 2, a team UConn defeated 6-1 on Feb. 9.

UConn has not won since they defeated Bucknell 4-2 on Feb. 17 and will need to regain momentum as the season comes to a close. They have just two regular season matches remaining until the American Conference tournament kicks off on April 18. The Huskies currently sit in eighth place in the conference and struggled in their only two matches against American conference opponents, as they were swept by both ECU and Temple.
