Peter Weber, a fan favorite from the most recent season of “The Bachelorette” has landed what some may call the most coveted role in reality television: The next Bachelor.
Weber, a 28-year-old pilot from California, made his Bachelor Nation debut on Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette”. From the moment he made his first appearance on camera, fans fell hard for him, including Brown. Weber, also known as “Pete the Pilot” made it far during Brown’s season. He traveled to places such as Rhode Island and Europe, convinced Brown was the one for him. Weber ultimately got eliminated from ‘The Bachelorette’ after he shared a very romantic night with Brown in a windmill in Greece. This elimination left Weber as the second runner up to both Jed Wyatt and Tyler Cameron.
All over America, fans were both confused and blindsided, and immediately started vocalizing their desire for Weber to become the next Bachelor. And of course Chris Harrison, the host of both ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘The Bachelorette’, listened.
On Sept. 17, Harrison officially declared Peter Weber the next Bachelor for the 2020 season. At the end of the finale of the most recent season of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’, Harrison said the five words every die heart Bachelor fan loves: “‘…And the next Bachelor is…” To Bachelor Nations delight Weber walked on stage, making every fan go crazy.
Throughout the days following the announcement, social media blew up. Weber’s former co-star Tyler Cameron, as well as Brown herself, congratulated him on becoming America’s next Bachelor. Weber himself made several appearances on both morning news programs, such as ‘Good Morning America’, and late-night talk shows like ‘Jimmy Kimmel’ solidifying his commitment to becoming the next Bachelor.
As much as Bachelor Nation would love to watch Weber search for love as soon as possible, they will have to wait. Although shooting has already begun, the episodes will not begin to air until around January of 2020, leaving fans filled with a strong feeling of anticipation.
We all know Weber, our beloved pilot, stole the hearts of many fans throughout America during his time on Brown’s season of ‘The Bachelorette’. If he is even half as charismatic and charming as he was when he made his first appearance in Bachelor Nation, Weber’s upcoming season of ‘The Bachelor’ will not disappoint.
