Stephon Castle
Stephon Castle finished the season strong, averaging a little more than 19 points with 33 minutes per game in April. In the San Antonio Spurs’ recent win over the Golden State Warriors, the rookie notched 21 points, three rebounds and five assists. The 20-year-old shined from field goal range, knocking down seven of 10 shots. However, the guard struggled from deep, only making one of five attempts. In addition, the former Husky accumulated four of seven points from the free-throw line. Turning over to the team’s 120-109 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, the Georgia native led with 22 points and seven boards. Similar to Wednesday night’s contest, Castle cashed in six of 12 buckets from two but only knocked down one of five three-pointers. To add on, the guard was nearly perfect from the foul line, nailing seven of nine attempts. Despite the recent pattern of hardly converting beyond the arc, Castle stays in the lead for Rookie of the Year, per the NBA.
Donovan Clingan

Similar to Castle, Donovan Clingan ended the year on the right foot, contributing a little more than nine points and 11 rebounds per game in April. In the Portland Trail Blazers’ clash with the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, the big man did not disappoint. With 27 minutes of court time, the former Husky nearly secured a double-double with 10 points, nine boards and four assists. The center was nearly perfect all around, sinking three of four field goals and burying all four free throw shots. Additionally, “Cling Kong” almost topped his career-high of 20 rebounds against the Chicago Bulls on Friday but fell short with 18 snatches. With two matches remaining, Clingan leads the franchise with a little more than one and a half blocks and a little more than seven and a half rebounds per contest, according to ESPN.
Cam Spencer
Despite declining in minutes over the last two weeks, Cam Spencer participated in the Memphis Grizzlies’ recent pair of wins over the Charlotte Hornets and Detroit Pistons. The 25-year-old performed for a combined total of 13 minutes, scoring five points between the two games. However, seeing Spencer playing less should come as no surprise with the playoff race tightening in the Western Conference. With three matches remaining, three seedings still need clinching, and the Grizzlies have yet to do so. Regardless of seeing less court time, Spencer showed growth that could promote him to a reliable off-the-bench player. The former Husky dominated with the Memphis Hustle G-League team, averaging nearly 20 and a half points within a little more than 32 minutes per clash. Moreover, the guard put up 16 points on March 10 against the Phoenix Suns and 14 points on Dec. 8 against the Washington Wizards. With that being said, the future looks bright, and seeing Spencer on the main roster more next season could happen.
Tristen Newton
With the 2024-2025 G-League campaign over, Tristen Newton has not participated with the Minnesota Timberwolves’ main roster. Since February, the rookie has participated in three of the team’s matches but scored zero points. However, Newton finished the year with a little more than 16 points, nearly six rebounds and almost seven assists per match with the Iowa Wolves. Despite thriving in the G-League, the former Husky is still trying to make a name for himself in the NBA.
Jordan Hawkins
After suffering a back injury, per Fox Sports, Jordan Hawkins last performed for the New Orleans Pelicans on Mar. 28. With three contests left, the 22-year-old’s season looks to end on the sideline. Overall, Hawkins accumulated nearly 11 points, a little less than three boards and a little more than one assist per match.
Andre Jackson Jr.
Andre Jackson Jr. slowly fell out of the Milwaukee Bucks rotation in the last three months. After January, the second-year player went from contributing three points in February to a little less than two points in March. Despite going to the postseason, the second-year player struggles to keep a spot on the team.
Adama Sanogo
Adama Sanogo sits in free agency waiting to get picked up, after the Chicago Bulls waived him on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The team finalized the decision after finding out the 22-year-old will miss four weeks, after suffering a right ailing knee, per CBS Sports.
