The University of Connecticut softball team will begin its four-game week with a matchup against Fairfield University before traveling to take on DePaul University in a weekend series.

The red-hot Huskies (24-14, 11-4) will welcome the Stags (17-19, 10-3) to Storrs, Conn. for the fifteenth meeting between the two programs.

UConn boasts an 11-3 record over Fairfield, including the last four straight. They won the last contest 13-1, forcing a mercy in the fifth inning.

This game will bring an end to a 14-game home stand for the Stags, as they will wrap it up with a double header on Tuesday with Sacred Heart University.  Fairfield has struggled when playing on the road with a 4-7 away record. Meanwhile the Huskies hold a dominant 6-1 record when playing on their home field.

Fourth-year Charli Warren has been invaluable to the Stags offense this season. She has gotten a hit in every game in the month of April, riding an eight-game hitting streak ahead of their games on Tuesday. Warren leads the team in hits (44), OPS (.907) and batting average (.376) through 36 starts.

After the midweek battle, the Huskies will get back on the road to the Windy City for a Big East clash with the Blue Demons (13-24, 1-14).

DePaul has struggled in their conference slate so far this season, with just one win against Big East opponents this season. The victory came against Seton Hall in the third game of their series back in March. This places them second to last in the standings, just over a winless Georgetown squad.

Despite their struggles, fourth-year Baylee Cosgrove has been a bright spot for DePaul throughout the year. She leads the team in batting average (.308) and hits (36) in her 37 games this season. Cosgrove has swiped seven bags this year and could cause trouble for the Huskies during the weekend.

While the all-time record stands at 17-14 in favor of the Blue Demons, the Huskies own supremacy in recent memory. UConn swept Depaul last season and has won seven of their last ten matchups.

UConn has yet to lose a series in the Big East this season. They are currently just one game behind St. John’s University for first place in the conference standings. This weekend offers a chance for the Huskies to keep pace in the standings, as the Red Storm (32-12-1, 12-3) have a tough road series with Creighton University coming up.

The action will get started on Wednesday at Burrill Family field. UConn will run a Huskies and Heroes promotion to honor veterans and active service members of the U.S. military.

The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. and will be available to stream on UConn+.
