
The UConn baseball team (18-17) will return to Storrs this weekend after a brief trip to Boston on Tuesday night, where they took down the Boston College Eagles in a dominant fashion, 21-9.
Connor Lane, a freshman, had quite the night for Connecticut. The catcher racked up three hits, as well as five RBIs and scored three runs.
This win brings the Huskies to a five-game winning streak, as they place themselves above the .500 mark for the first time in the program’s 2025 campaign.
The Huskies look to keep this winning streak alive as they face the Seton Hall Pirates (14-22) this weekend.

The last time these two Big East foes faced one another was on May 4, 2024. The Huskies took the win 5-2, scoring three runs in the last three innings after falling behind in the beginning of the game. With the dub, the Huskies took the series against the Pirates 2-1.
Seton Hall is coming off a weekend series against the Creighton Bluejays, where they took their three-game homestand against the Jays 2-1 with a down to the wire 7-6 win on Sunday.
In this matchup, the Huskies will need to look out for sophomore outfielder on the Pirates, Aiden Robbins. The 6-foot-2 Pennsylvania native is hitting a .421 batting average this season and has racked up 31 RBIs so far. In the Pirates’ series against Creighton, Robbins attained seven runs on the weekend, contributing to his impressive batting average.
To get the sweep this weekend, the Huskies will need to utilize the bullpen to their advantage after a great weekend on the bump against Georgetown last weekend. The trio of Tommy Ellisen, Charlie West and Oliver Pudvar aided the Huskies in that weekend series sweep and will be crucial for the Huskies this weekend.
On the offensive side of things, Tyler Minick, Rob Rispoli and Ryan Daniels will be lethal for the Huskies in the batter’s box. Minick, a sophomore, leads the Huskies with a batting average of .339, with 35 RBIs and 10 homeruns on the year.
All in all, it is set to be an exciting matchup in Storrs, where the Huskies look to shift gears in the win column as they reach the midway point of the season.
The three-game homestand will begin on Thursday with a first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m., followed by Friday’s game at 6:05 p.m. and Saturday’s game at 1:05 p.m. Husky fans can tune into these matchups on FloSports and 97.9 FM.
