Track and Field: Huskies set to compete in the 130th Penn Relays

The UConn men’s and women’s track and field teams are headed to Philadelphia this weekend to compete in the 130th running of the Penn Relays at Franklin Field, starting Thursday and running through Saturday.

The Penn Relays have been held at Franklin Field, the nation’s oldest flip-out stadium, since 1895. A wheel (a wooden plaque awarded to relay champions) is a career-defining accomplishment for a track athlete. The atmosphere, which attracts more than 100,000 spectators, turns the event from a typical invitational into a high-stakes international platform.
