Connecticut State Police are investigating an untimely death that occurred near Mansfield Apartments on Friday, according to Trooper Josue Dorelus.

Student residents of Mansfield Apartments took to UConn’s subreddit to express their concerns, citing crime scene tape and roped off trails behind the complex.

The Rider app released an update at 2:12 p.m. Friday saying the Mansfield Apartments and Mansfield 275 UConn bus stops along the Red Line were moved to the front of the complex on Route 275 due to an emergency. The detour remains in place until 10 p.m. tonight.

State police, primarily Troop C Tolland, took over the case, given that it is situated in the Mansfield woods off of UConn’s campus, but UConn police are still helping, according to university spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz.

This is a developing story.
