Today is the final day University of Connecticut students can submit an application to “Lead the Pack,” which gives them the opportunity to shadow President Susan Herbst.
Interested students must submit a résumé and cover letter tailored to the job description to HuskyCareerLink by 5 p.m. today, according to the Center for Career Development website.

“Candidates should review (the) job description and ensure that their document reflects the listed qualities and skills being sought for this opportunity,” the job description said.
Desired skills and qualities include a strong interest in the daily functions of UConn and what it takes to lead a large organization, a demonstrated interest in campus involvement and professional development, experience serving as a leader in various capacities, the ability to verbally communicate with people inside and outside an organization and the ability to work in a team structure.
It is also recommended that interested students view the “Lead the Pack Preparation” video found on the Center for Career Development website before submitting their application, according to the job description posting.
To submit an application, candidates should select the “Jobs” tile on their HuskyCareerLink home page, then select “Job Shadow” from the “Job Type” drop down menu. “Lead the Pack: Job Shadow President Herbst” should appear below in a blue tile.
After the application deadline, selected finalists will be chosen and interviews will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26.
